The Cambridge Buddhist Society provides talks, meetings and information about Buddhism and meditation. It was founded in 1983, and attracts people from across the eastern region to listen to speakers from a wide range of Buddhist traditions.
We aim to provide meetings that are of interest not only for local Buddhists but also for the many non-Buddhists who take an interest in the teachings and practices of Buddhism.
Our talks, see link "Programme" above, are public, open to all and welcoming to newcomers.
We try to offer monthly talks, usually on a Friday at 7-30, at the Friends' Meeting House, Jesus Lane, Cambridge, CB5 8BA, on the corner with Park Street. Following the talk, there is an opportunity to meet informally over a cup of tea. For those new to Buddhism, our meetings provide an opportunity to make contact with local meditation groups from a range of Buddhist traditions.
See link "Noticeboard" above, for Urgent Messages, Local Events and other information, including the next Saturday Meditation Retreat at the Friends Meeting House, and even news of a cookery book. Occasionally on this noticeboard, we give links to a national event.
There is no charge for our meetings but donations towards expenses are always welcome.
